Biochar is a Super Material for Land Applications

Biochar is a charcoal-like substance that locks atmospheric carbon into a long-lasting form and prevents it returning to the atmosphere. It also enhances the fertility of the soil and supports water retention, creating a durable carbon sink that can last for hundreds of years.

Project Biochar

1. Securing Degraded Land

Initial commissions will lock down a location of degraded land in Mzuzu, Malawi, that will serve as the first iteration of Project Biochar.

2. Applying Biochar to Soil

Biochar will then be applied across the degraded soil, which going forward will be monitored for carbon storage and land regeneration.

3. Boost Crop Production

Biochar applied annually will provide sustained benefits to land after 5-10+ years, which will then support food and feed production.
